Everything started with a small aluminum cup
Recognizing a common need in the pharmaceutical industry, Teclen founder Rolf Lenhardt was aware of the demand for a simple solution to safely freeze-dry small volumes for research and development (R&D). To match the industry’s requirements, he designed his first Lyoprotect® product, the Aluminum Cup XS. Over time, Teclen’s product family has expanded significantly; however, our ongoing mission remains centered on discovering the optimal solutions for our customers’ individual needs!
Features of the Lyoprotect® Aluminum Cup
Sustainability
Reduce waste by opting for multiple-use components. The sturdy aluminum cup has a very long lifetime, only the corresponding single-use membrane must be discarded.
Safe sublimation
The Lyoprotect® Membrane acts as a sterile barrier and ensures zero fly-out. Vapor effortlessly passes through the hydrophobic membrane, which supports fast drying.
Optimum heat transfer
Aluminum has an exceptionally good heat transfer rate. The high performance between freeze dryer shelf and aluminum cup bottom provides for fast freeze-drying.
High quality
Made from aluminum AlMg 4.5 Mn. The anodized surface makes the cup suitable for multiple use. All cups are manufactured in Germany. Work’s test certificate 3.1.
Sterilization
All components including the membrane are suited for sterilization in an autoclave at 121°C (250°F) for 20 minutes. APIs can be aseptically produced in compliance with GMP.
Process development
Combine the small Aluminum Cup with the larger Aluminum Tray for a continuous process development. Ideal for R&D and small batches. Preliminary freezing is possible.
